ESDU TECHNICAL MEMORANDUM Comparison of surface pressure fluctuations in a turbulent boundary layer as measured on various flight vehicles
Abstract:
An investigation has been carried out into currently available flight data excluding cases of highly perturbed flow and large pressure gradients. Data have collapsed well on the basis of non-dimensional power spectral density and Strouhal number. A prediction method has been derived for overall level of fluctuating pressure and its spectral distribution. This has been compared with a prediction method based on wind tunnel data.Indexed under:
